Maryem has been a compliance, risk and control leader primarily in public companies within a variety of sectors across Canada for over 2 decades.  She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and a Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from Concordia University.  She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Canadian Risk Management designation from the Global Risk Management Institute. Maryem currently works for Service New Brunswick overseeing quality and business support functions.


A first generation Canadian, throughout her youth Maryem volunteered one on one with newcomers to her community in Edmundston, and later with a regional newcomer centre when she attended UNB Fredericton.  Maryem has volunteered with community driven non-profit organizations as a board or grassroots member within the communities she has lived in. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, she makes it a priority within her own workplaces through concrete action.


With 2 school-aged children, Maryem and her husband, Carlos, enjoy spending time as a family exploring the province and the region, geeking out on the latest Marvel creation, and cooking to share new and classic recipes with friends.
