Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
PRUDE Inc. (“PRUDE”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, through:
- Report an Incident form — details of an incident of racism or discrimination. You can report anonymously; contact details are optional.
- Client Intake form — your name, contact details, and information about the services you need so our team can help you.
- Contact and Volunteer forms — your name, contact details, and your message or volunteer interests.
- Newsletter sign-up — your email address.
- Donations — processed securely by our donation partner, Zeffy. We do not see or store your payment card details.
Like most websites, our site also collects basic, non-identifying usage data (such as pages visited and browser type) to help us improve it.
How we use it
- To respond to you and provide the services or support you asked for.
- To document and respond to incident reports. Incident data is used in combined, anonymous form for research, education, and advocacy. We never publish information that could identify you.
- To coordinate volunteers and send updates you’ve signed up for.
- To issue donation receipts.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Who can see it
Only PRUDE staff and authorized volunteers who need it to do their work. Some information is stored with trusted service providers (for example, our form, email, and donation platforms), which are required to protect it. We will only share personal information with others if you agree, or if we are required to by law — for example, if there is an immediate risk to someone’s safety.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect your information, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law.
Your choices
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message.
- You can choose to report an incident anonymously.
