Reflecting on PRUDE Inc.’s Black Heritage Month Conference

Conference-BHM

On February 3rd, Saturday, PRUDE Inc. hosted an inspiring Black Heritage Month Youth Empowerment Workshop at the Saint John Arts Centre. The workshop featured youth panelists and two community leaders, Chisom Ezeh, and Mouhamed Idris Gueye, as guest speakers.

The workshop aimed to inspire young adults to connect with their roots, embrace their heritage, and strive for excellence in their academic and career pursuits. It provided a platform for discussion, learning, and empowerment within the community.

The conference began with a land acknowledgment by Christabel Ugolo, PRUDE Inc.’s Young Ambassadors Leadership Initiative Cohort 1 graduate, followed by welcoming remarks from Jackson Enoh, PRUDE Inc.’s Executive Director. Christine Eruokwu, PRUDE Inc.’s Newcomer Programs Manager then introduced the moderator for the day’s discussions.

Ogorchukwu Ugolo, PRUDE Inc.’s Young Ambassadors Leadership Initiative (YALI) Coordinator introduced the young panelists Paul Amana, Christabel Ugolo, Oghenegare Ewubare, and Chioma Ezeonyejiaku. The Panelists share their stories, barriers, and overcoming challenges.

Throughout the conference, the audience engaged in a panel discussion and a Q&A session provided an opportunity for further exploration of the topics presented.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Ogorchukwu Ugolo, YALI Coordinator, and light refreshments were provided for attendees to enjoy as they continued to reflect on the day’s discussions.
